Grownish WOWs Audiences with High Comedy Ratings

Grown-ish, Freeform’s spin-off of the hit ABC show Black-ish, got lots of love from audiences, with a solid debut on January 3rd that scored some of the network’s highest numbers yet for an hour-long season premiere.

Yeah, it extra broke the internet. But just in case you missed it:

  • Freeform’s “grown-ish” was Wednesday’s No. 1 most social cable series
  • In the first 3 days after its launch, “grown-ish” generated 4.5 million views across linear and digital platforms, making the series the best digital debut in Freeform history
  • The “grown-ish” debut opened as Wednesday’s No. 1 scripted series on cable TV among Women 18-49, Women 18-34 and Females 12-34

Critics and fans dug the James Baldwin references, and shared their excitement about Freeform’s first successful black show.
